A man graduates from honest lowlife to total sleazeball when he starts pimping out a ballerina-turned-hooker so he can make enough money to win back his wife, an aspiring cosmetologist who spends her days trying out skin care products on her comatose brother. Playwright Jennifer Dobby gives her characters enough facets to make them compelling, but she keeps requiring them to do implausible things. By the time in the second act when the wife and the prostitute start plotting the husband's murder, the play has gone completely off the rails. Nicole Gilman's production for 20% Theatre Company is poorly lit and awkwardly staged, but the acting is often affecting--especially that of Cristina Panfilio as the spunky-sad prostitute. --Zac Thompson
